CUSD 101 Schools

  Erie HS Exterior Elevation

The City of Erie, population 1200, is fighting to recover from the devastating damage from spring 2007 floods that put the community at a crossroads.  Homes, business and schools were damaged or destroyed. Rather than giving up, On 9/18/2007, Erie’s residents chose to embrace the future by passing a $21.9 M school bond issue many feel will ensure the town’s survival. Instead of succumbing to disaster, the town’s residents turned a bad situation into an opportunity by creating a showcase high school designed around ‘project based learning’ with innovative planning from PBA.

The new schools will also feature as many environmentally friendly components as possible, such as ponds used for irrigation and wind generators to provide energy.  The school is being designed LEED silver.
