Augusta High School

in K-12 education

This project was approximately $9M and consisted of five phases that spanned over two summers and a single school year.  The project included major renovations to the existing auditorium, main gymnasium, science department, business department, FACS lab along with cosmetic renovations to the entire 140,000 sf building.  The addition comprised of four new science labs that have been designed to serve the school's tornado shelter, meeting the requirements of the FEMA 361 and ICC-500.  This tornado shelter was in part funded by a FEMA hazard mitigation grant.  The addition was also critical to the phasing of this project as it allowed the school to move students into the completed addition, vacating classrooms until the renovations were completed in those areas.
