As a part of the bond issue completed in 2010 for the city of Newton, Newton High School received 27,000 sf of addition and remodeled spaces to the existing 1970 building. As a part of that, 11,000 sf was designed as administrative office space. The office complex features a security vestibule, office personnel, and student services area. The addition includes a new Media center with lecture hall for extension education and shared access for the community,  10 newly renovated classrooms including 2 fully equipped science laboratories, a sunlit and airy main entrance transitioning addition to existing student corridors, and energy efficient window replacement along exterior facades.
